Samoha is a composite dam of stone masonry and concrete. The overflow section is 389 m long with 27 vertical spillway gates, of 14.5 m x 5 m. The face of the overflow section is ogee shaped, with slotted roller buckets for energy dissipation. The non-overflow section on either side is 93 m long with an earthen flank on the left. The foundations rest on compact granite rock.
