Kushalpura dam is constructed on river Dudhi, near Biora town in Madhya Pradesh. This dam has a central spillway of concrete with seven number gates of radial gates with hydraulic hoist. The project included the construction of a central spillway, a key wall, and an energy dissipation bucket work. This was provided in the form of a roller bucket and was constructed after the construction of the spillway as a balanced work, in a period of fewer than 3 months. The project had to be completed under a tight deadline, ie, before monsoon, as the passing flood would have caused damage to the toe of the dam and endangered its stability.
