This project includes a composite dam, an earthen flank, a sluice, a central spillway, and an RCC bridge including gates. The gross storage capacity of the dam is 19.9 mcm, with designed irrigation for 1800 hectares. It has six hydraulically operated radial gates to discharge the flood. It has a stilling basin for energy dissipation.

The work was executed in a period of 21 months, despite delays on account of land acquisition due to a shortage of fine aggregate in the area. Crushed sand was used which was manufactured onsite from a sand plant installed at the site.
